Set in the heart of the Footscray business and shopping precinct, Footscray Library offers you a vibrant and well-loved space which is very popular with locals and visitors alike. It offers the library service’s most extensive lending collections, all within a welcoming light-filled space. This beautiful heritage building, nestled in Coronet Park, is one of the oldest working stables in the municipality. Built in 1886 as part of a private property, the stables were initially designed to lodge six horses. They have since been reported to have had many uses, including storing produce and accommodating the Light Horse Brigade during World War II.

There are multiple public transport options in walking distance from the venue. The venue is a three minute walk from Tram 57, Stop 30 at Flemington Racecourse/Racecourse Road. Bus 404 Footscray/Moonee Ponds. Edinburgh Street/Ascot Vale Road stop is a two minute walk away. Alternatively, Newmarket Train Station is a ten minute walk away.

The venue features a lift to the loft space upstairs and a wheelchair accessible bathroom as well as male and female bathrooms. Street parking only, no disabled parking spots.
