Japanese writer Toshikazu Kawaguchi has become a global literary star after selling over a million copies of his debut novel, Before the Coffee Gets Cold

The novel inspired a series of stories – including the most recent release Before We Say Goodbye – that became an international phenomenon. Each novel explores the age-old question: what would you change if you could travel back in time and confront the ghosts of your past?

In his first visit to Australia, appearing exclusively at Melbourne Writers Festival, Kawaguchi speaks with Daniel Hahn about his much-loved works and forthcoming TV adaption.

This event will be interpreted live from Japanese to English.
